What we provide

We offer 2 services:

  1. Snagging Survey Pack
  2. Client Report Review

A typical Snagging Survey consists of a report of a visual inspection of the interior & exterior of a new home looking in detail at the following:

  • Doors, ironmongery, door frames & architraves
  • Walls & Ceiling finishes
  • General woodwork such as skirtings & window boards
  • Windows & glazing
  • Electrical fittings, & smoke/CO detection
  • Heating & plumbing systems
  • Pipework, radiators & fireplaces
  • Floor finishes
  • Kitchen & Bathroom fittings, finishes & tiling
  • Appliances
  • Staircases
  • Loft area where accessible
  • Brickwork
  • External paintwork & finishes
  • External gutters, pipes & drainage
  • Paved areas & garden
  • Walls, fencing & gates
  • Garage floor, doors, walls & roof
  • Review of your Home User Guide (HUG)

1. Snagging Survey Pack

The Snagging Survey Pack consists of the following:

A) Snagging Survey Guidance Notes

  • This is a pdf document which includes instructions to help plan the snagging survey plus explanatory notes on what to look for
  • It also includes relevant photos and notes on common snagging issues including those relating to Building Regulations and Building Standards

B) Snagging Report Template

  • This is an MS Excel document for self editing which will help you to produce your own Snagging Report with your own photos if you wish
  • There is a full sample Report available to view via the link button at the bottom of this page to show you how it might look

C) Technical Building Guidance Notes

  • These include notes on tolerances, airbricks, dpc's, and location of electrical fittings/Fire Alarm detectors

D) Home User Guide Checklist

  • This gives details of what information you should expect to receive about your new home at handover from your Housebuilder
  • There are separate checklists for Houses and Flats

2. Client Report Review

After receiving the Snagging Survey Pack, and you have produced your own Snagging Report, if you want further advice before sending it to your Housebuilder or Housing Association, we can review this with you and advise on possible improvements or additional points to include.

To the right you will see a montage of snagging photos and there is a link button below to allow you to view and download a sample of a typical Snagging Report. 

Each snag has a separate reference, some with photos to help identify them more easily.
